Discuss the importance of being unselfish and helping others in distress. Cite a specific example. What were the consequences of the unselfish act?  What might have happened if the person had not acted?

Read the words from a Protestant church minister who supported the Nazi party until 1937.  “First they came for the Communists but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out; Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists but I was not one of them, so I did not speak out;  Then they  came for the Jews but I was not Jewish so I did not speak out.  And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”  Martin Niemoller.   Mr Niemoller was imprisoned at Dachau but survived the war.

 
You are a Jew.  If a SS officer showed up to your house and demanded that you have 8 hours (which was really less) to pack a suitcase because you are going on a trip, what items would you place in your luggage?  Remember you are being relocated and you will most likely not return to your home.
